I decided to use straight, diagonal lines to quilt the placemats and I really like this technique. I think it's very clean looking and shows off the fabrics well.
I used the sewing guides on my walking foot for the first time and I wish I would have tried them sooner! Truthfully, I didn't even know what they were for a very long time. :) They attach to the back of the walking foot and if you line them up to the first line you sew, all the rest of the lines will be straight and evenly spaced. What a great invention!
I also finished a ladybug quilt that had been done except for binding for over a month. I think it turned out very cheery and I added it to my etsy store.
The binding is fun because it alternates between the different fabrics in the quilt.

Nice work! The placemats look lovely and the ladybug quilt is adorable. Like the interesting binding!
Great quilting! I just bought a quilting guide for my machine and I can't figure out how to use it. ...sigh... How great to have two projects finished! I love that feeling.
Two super-fun projects! I love the texture in that light blue fabric. And the ladybug quilt is so cheerful!
